How long is your tour?
Our free tour is approximately 2.5 hours long and covers about 4 kilometres across the city center. We walk at a leisurely pace, stopping to speak and take a look around at regular intervals.
Where does the tour start?

Our tour starts at the bronze Monument of Gorodovoy (the Policeman) (in the beginning of Bolshaya Pokrovka street). Click here to see a map.
How do I get to the starting point?
It is the most popular tourist streets of Nizhny Novgorod. You may ask your taxi driver to go to Minina y Pozharskogo square and then look for our guide!

Unfortunately, at this stage we only offer tours in English.
How much does the tour cost?
There is no set price for the tour. Our tour guides work on "pay what you think it's worth" model, so that any tourist can discover our city regardless of his budget. If you enjoy the tour, our guides would appreciate your tips; however, only you will decide how much your experience is worth.

During this walking tour you will learn:

The tour takes approximately 2,5 hours
Why our Kremlin is so special

The Kremlin of Nizhny Novgorod was built just in 11 years (from 1500 till 1511) and it is unsurpassed in the difference of elevation between the lower and upper towers (there are 82 meters!).
However, we are so proud of these ancient walls! You are wondering why? Because no one EVER conquered it!
How many steps you should make to go down by Chkalov Stairs
The Stairs are named after Valery Ckalov, the famous soviet pilot, who first made a non-stop flight across the Northern Pole from Moscow to Vancouver, USA. This is a longest staircase in Russia, so try not to make a mistake while counting the number of steps. Be sure, we will tell you the right answer :)
Who are Minin and Pozharsky
We have the square of Minin and Pozharsky, the University of Minin, the Monument of Minin...Literally, in Nizhny Novgorod they are everywhere. These two men even today are regarded as the national heroes of Russia and our guides will explain you, why!
What else?
The list of the sights that our tour covers is really long, however, here are some highlights:

Bolshaya Pokrovskaya street
Rozhdestvenskaya street
Strelka (the confluence point of the Volga and the Oka)
The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin (Stroganov Church)

And much more!
